The series Love Story about John Kennedy Jr. is a huge success in the United States

With 25 million hours of viewing since its launch a fortnight ago, the event mini-series marks the best start in the history of the Hulu platform – Disney’s other platform across the Atlantic – which broadcasts the series in North America (it’s on Disney + in France).

Created by Connor Hines and produced by Ryan Murphy, this first installment of the Love Story anthology depicts the tragic romance between John Kennedy Junior and Carolyn Bessette, from the day they met.

Alongside Sarah Pidgeon and Paul Anthony Kelly, we find Naomie Watts in the role of Jackie Kennedy, Grace Gummer in that of Caroline Kennedy and Alessandro Nivola who plays the American stylist, Calvin Klein.

On social networks too, fiction is the talk of the town. The hashtag #lovestory has more than 21 million posts on Tik Tok.

The series continues its winning trajectory with an audience that continues to grow since the last episode broadcast, the fifth, recorded a 51% increase in views compared to the first.

The son of the late President John Kennedy, lawyer and journalist, creator of George magazine, and fashion journalist Carolyn Bessette are one of the most famous couples in the world. In the 90s, their romance with worldwide impact aroused the fascination of the media and the public. Constantly harassed by the paparazzi and the press, the couple learns to live in the incessant spotlight. A tragic romance like that of Princess Diana and her companion, the Egyptian producer, Dodi Al-Fayed. Carolyn and John Jr died in a plane accident on July 16, 1999, when they were only 38 and 33 years old… The son of the 35th President of the United States suffered a fatal fate, like his father, assassinated at the age of 46, on November 22, 1963, in the middle of the street, while the latter was campaigning for his presidential re-election.

A mythical couple like their elders, whom the cinema resurrects through fiction. The restaurant where JFK Jr. and Bessette had their first date saw a 40% increase in reservations, while the boat model that belonged to the journalist saw the biggest increase in accessories sales since its creation 188 years ago, according to Bloomberg.
