Kirsten Dunst will star opposite Sydney Sweeney in The Housekeeper 2

Already cast in Minecraft 2 last week, the 43-year-old actress offers herself a new role of choice in the sequel to the surprise hit of 2025.

She is everywhere. Kirsten Dunst has a series of projects and has just added a new line to her already busy schedule. After joining the cast of Minecraft 2 (expected in July 2027), the actress will be appearing in The Maid 2,adapted from The Housemaid’s Secret, the novel by Freida McFadden. It will be the direct sequel to the success of 2025, which flirted with $400 million in global revenue.

Sydney Sweeney will therefore face Kirsten Dunst this time, after her duel against Amanda Seyfried.

In this sequel, Millie is back and plunges into a new domestic hell. She accepts a job with a woman she is never allowed to see, responsible for taking care of a house where some doors must remain closed. Until the truth behind one of them threatens to reveal secrets even darker than his own.

As director, Paul Feig is back, as is screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine, already working on the first film. Michele Morrone will also return as Enzo.

On the other hand, no return for Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar, whose characters will not be part of this new chapter centered on another family.

And Kirsten Dunst continues to navigate between auteur cinema and big productions. She filmed in The Entertainment System is Down of Cannes double Palmé Ruben Östlund (but we don’t know if he will be ready for the Croisette this year). She abandoned, however, Sofia Coppola’s next film.
