Sonic 4 has finished filming: first photo of Metal Sonic
Director Jeff Fowler is busy teasing fans.
He still goes so fast.
The production of Sonic 4 is officially over. Director Jeff Fowler, already at the helm of the first three films in the saga, announced the news on X with a particularly enthusiastic message.
“On behalf of this incredible cast and crew, we’ve made the best Sonic movie yet and we can’t wait to show it to you.”wrote the filmmaker.
To accompany this announcement, Jeff Fowler also shared an end-of-filming photo showing him in his director’s chair alongside a figurine of Metal Sonic, the famous evil robotic double teased at the end of the third opus. This first preview allows you to discover the live-action design of the character: an ultra sleek metallic version of the blue hedgehog, with particularly menacing luminous red eyes. A cult antagonist that fans have been asking for in the franchise for a long time.
For now, the plot of Sonic 4 remains secret, but the film will once again bring together an impressive cast led by Ben Schwartz. Also starring are Jim Carrey, Kristen Bell, Idris Elba, Keanu Reeves, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Ben Kingsley, Matt Berry, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Lee Majdoub, Nick Offerman and Richard Ayoade.
A real cash machine for Paramount, the saga mixing live action and CGI has already exceeded a billion dollars in worldwide box office revenue.
Sonic 4 will be released in French theaters on March 24, 2027.
And that’s a wrap on #SonicMovie4 !!!
