Sadie Sink to wear new A24 series

After Stranger Things, the young actress was cast to lead The Marriage Plot, an ambitious adaptation of Jeffrey Eugenides’ novel, for Disney.

Will Sadie Sink eventually emerge as the big winner of Stranger Things?

Certainly, Millie Bobby Brown has a string of big productions for Netflix (Enola Holmes 3 is coming), but little Eleven is still having trouble getting out of the fold of the platform. Conversely, his friend from Hawkins has a series of major and various projects.

While waiting to find her in the cinema this summer in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, then in Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027, the interpreter of Max has signed to lead a brand new prestige series intended for Disney.

The FX channel (owned by Disney) has ordered a limited series adapted from The Marriage Plot, a novel published in 2011 and signed by Pulitzer Prize winner Jeffrey Eugenides. The project will bring together a prestigious creative team with Will Arbery (screenwriter of Succession) writing and Hiro Murai (Atlanta) directing. The project is led by the A24 studio, which has already had Sadie Sink work successfully on The Whale (in 2022).

The story of The Marriage Plot is set in the early 1980s at Brown University and follows Madeleine Hanna, an English literature student caught in a love triangle as she completes her thesis on the “marriage plot” in 19th century fiction. She finds herself torn between Leonard Bankhead, a brilliant but fragile biology student suffering from bipolar disorder, and Mitchell Grammaticus, a religious studies student in search of meaning and love.

The novel was very well received upon its release and regularly cited among the best works of 2011. The series should offer a free adaptation.
