Omar Sy set to join Margot Robbie in Ocean’s Eleven prequel
The French star of Lupine persists and signs in Hollywood: Omar Sy is in negotiations to join the XXL cast of the new film derived from the Ocean’s Eleven saga.
Between two adventures of Lupineseason 4 of which is expected this fall on Netflix, Omar Sy continues to produce American productions.
According to The Hollywood Reporterthe French actor is in negotiations to join the cast of the highly anticipated prequel toOcean’s Eleven.
We do not yet know for what role, but he would find a super glamorous cast, surrounding Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper, who will lead the film while producing it. Cooper will also direct and write the screenplay. Already announced in the casting, Wagner Moura, Monica Barbaro and Josh Gad will also be there.
The feature film also welcomes prestigious new faces: the French-speaking Vicky Krieps, revealed in Phantom Thread and seen recently in The Three Musketeerswas also cast, as George MacKay (1917), Lauren Ridloff (The Walking Dead) and British actor Jack Holden.
Unlike Steven Soderbergh’s trilogy, this prequel will not see George Clooney return in the role of Danny Ocean. The plot will take place in 1963, on the sidelines of the Monaco Grand Prix, where the characters played by Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper would be the parents of Danny Ocean. Wagner Moura will play the main antagonist of this new adventure.
The role of Omar Sy remains kept secret for the moment, just like those of the other newcomers.
Filming is scheduled to begin at the end of July in Paris, before continuing in the south of France. A prestigious setting for a film which intends to relaunch one of the most popular heist franchises in cinema.
