David Harbor crowned at the 2026 Emmy Awards, Spider-Noir triumphs despite its cancellation

The full list of first winners awaiting the big main prize evening, which will be held next Saturday.

The 2026 Emmy Awards have already delivered a first verdict.

Before the big ceremony scheduled for September 14, the 78th edition awarded its first trophies this weekend in Los Angeles. While waiting for the main awards, David Harbor and Linda Cardellini were honored, as was Spider-Noir… although canceled by Prime Video.

David Harbor won his first ever Emmy for his role in DTF St. Louis. The actor, well known for his character Jim Hopper in Stranger Things, was crowned in the category of best supporting actor in a mini-series, an anthology series or TV film.

Linda Cardellini also won her first Emmy for DTF St. Louis, in the category of Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries, Anthology Series or TV Movie.

The excellent HBO drama came away with 6 awards, but the series which has already dominated the evening (and which is the big favorite to crush this 78th edition of the Emmys) is Widow’s Bay. The crazy horror comedy Apple TV leaves with 8 Emmy Awards. The Apple streamer has won 20 awards in total, more than all other platforms. Pluribus completes this harvest with 4 statuettes.

The other big surprise of the evening came from Spider-Noir. Just days after announcing its cancellation, the Prime Video series won five Emmy Awards. She was awarded for her stunts, sound editing, credits, visual effects and cinematography. A funny way to bow out for the series led by Nicolas Cage, which will therefore never see a second season.

The most moving moment of the evening, however, went to Rob Reiner. The actor and director, who recently passed away, posthumously won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his appearance in The Bear. The audience at the Peacock Theater honored him with a long standing ovation.

In the drama categories, Shailene Woodley won the Emmy for Best Guest Actress for Paradise. Ernest Harden Jr. won for best guest actor in a drama series for The Pitt.

On the animation side, South Park won the Emmy for Best Animated Series for the first time since 2013 thanks to its episode Sermon On The ‘Mount. Netflix, for its part, won the Emmy for best TV film with Such Remarkable Creatures, led by Sally Field.

Finally, Fallout won the Emmy for best costume design in a fantasy or science fiction series, while Julie Andrews won her fourth Emmy, in the category for best vocal performance.

The remainder of the 78th Emmy Awards will take place on September 14, 2026.
