Nick Fury will ultimately not be in Avengers: Doomsday
Samuel L. Jackson confirms that Nick Fury will be absent from the next Avengers opus but will be in the one after that.
Nick Fury will still be waiting.
While Avengers: Doomsday will bring together an impressive armada of heroes and characters from different dimensions of the MCU, Samuel L. Jackson has just confirmed that he will not be part of it.
Asked by The Direct about his next return in the role of the former director of SHIELD, the actor was very clear:
“The next movie I’ll be in will be the movie after.”
In other words, Nick Fury will not be in Avengers: Doomsdaybut will return in Avengers: Secret Wars.
And Samuel L. Jackson obviously doesn’t know much more than we do. When asked if he can give the slightest clue about Secret Warsthe actor simply responds:
“I have no idea. (Marvel) didn’t tell me anything except: You’re not going to be in this movie. You’ll be in the next one.“
A confirmation which also explains why Samuel L. Jackson did not appear in the official casting announcement of Doomsday. The next part of Avengers must, however, bring together an XXL cast, with many characters from the MCU but also figures from other Marvel universes.
Since its first appearance in Iron Man In 2008, Nick Fury became one of the most important characters in the saga. After being at the heart of Secret Invasion And The Marvelshowever, he was much more discreet in the films Avengershis last appearance dating back to Avengers: Age of Ultron.
His last stint in the MCU left him on Earth, alongside the family of Kamala Khan (Miss Marvel), after his work at the head of SABER
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 16, 2026 in France. Avengers: Secret Wars is set for December 15, 2027;
