Nicholas Galitzine in the running to succeed Johnny Depp in Sleepy Hollow

Johnny Depp made his mark in Tim Burton’s version in 1999. The 32-year-old English actor could well succeed him in a new adaptation of Sleepy Hollow.
According to Deadline, Nicholas Galitzine is in final negotiations to play Ichabod Crane in Hollowa film starring Sydney Sweeney.
The actress will play Katrina Van Tassel, central character in this rereading of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The project is adapted from Lindsey Anderson Beer’s first novel, which is due to be published in fall 2027 by Putnam. The filmmaker will also ensure the adaptation and production. Belmont Cameli is also in the casting.
This new version will take the point of view of Katrina Van Tassel – played by Christina Ricci at the time – who will no longer simply be an object of romantic lust, but the heroine of a mysterious intrigue. On the program: gothic atmosphere, psychological suspense and supernatural love triangle, with an erotic thriller dimension. A contemporary rereading which therefore intends to shift the focus on one of the most famous stories in fantastic literature.
