One Piece: season 3 is already filming
The Straw Hat crew sets sail again in South Africa.
While season 2 of One Piece will only arrive on Netflix on March 10, 2026, the streamer is wasting no time and is already preparing the sequel.
Production on the third season of the live-action manga adaptation has officially begun in Cape Town, South Africa, Netflix announced Monday.
To mark the occasion, Netflix shared an image revealing the script for the first episode of season 3 — written by Ashley Wigfield and directed by Christoph Schrewe — will be titled “Where There’s Smoke.”
The streamer also announced the promotion of four key cast members from Season 2 to regulars for Season 3: Mikaela Hoover (Chopper), Joe Manganiello (Mr. 0), Lera Abova (Miss All Sunday) and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Nefartari Cobra).

Joe Tracz will return as co-showrunner and writer, supported by Ian Stokes, who replaces Matt Owens.
While season 3 promises to introduce a host of new characters, the main crew will remain at the center of the story. All members of the Straw Hats will be back: Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Mackenyu (Roronoa Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp), Taz Skylar (Sanji), as well as Charithra Chandran (Miss Wednesday).
No release date for season 3 has yet been announced, but we imagine that One Piece aims this time not to let two and a half years pass (as between seasons 1 and 2).
