Quentin Tarantino has written his 10th and final film, but is delaying the deadline
The director of Pulp Fiction has completed the script for his final feature film. But before returning to the camera, he wants to devote himself to theater, reunite with his family and “live a little”.
No one forced Quentin Tarantino to quit after his tenth film.
And yet, the prospect of putting his camera away for good seems to haunt him. So much so that he is still postponing the moment of shooting this final feature film, supposed to close his flamboyant career.
After the false start of The Movie Critica project abandoned when it was to be this tenth film, the filmmaker confirms that he has now written the screenplay for his last feature film. But there is no question of launching into production straight away. Quentin Tarantino has other priorities, starting with the theater.
Guest in The Graham Norton Showfor his first appearance on the show in more than ten years, the director explained that he had finished writing his script, while specifying that he intended to take his time before moving on to the sequel.
“I’ve written a script that I really like, but first I want to do the play and see who I am. Then I’ll go back and spend time with my family, live a little, and see what I want to do.“
The piece in question is titled The Popinjay Cavalier. This old-fashioned adventure comedy, led by Sacha Baron Cohen, will open at the Phoenix Theater in London next March, following previews scheduled for the end of February. The performances are to continue for three months, until June 13.
Tarantino also said that the project The Popinjay Cavalier was originally intended as a film script, before he realized it would work better on stage. He promises a show “thrilling” and says he can’t wait to bring West End audiences “a great evening of entertainment”.
It remains to be seen what will become of his famous tenth film.
