While Christopher Nolan’s adaptation is a hit in theaters around the world, Elon Musk announces that he wants to produce his own version of Homer’s famous story, entirely produced by artificial intelligence.

“Before the end of this year, Grok Imagine will make a full-length film about The Odyssey which will be historically accurate and faithful to Homer’s art.”

The announcement comes after the broadcast on X of a short extract generated by AI by a user of the social network, presenting a vision of the famous voyage of Ulysses.

A promise that obviously raises questions. Because if Elon Musk assures that he wants to offer a version “historically accurate“, Homer’s work remains above all a mythological story mixing gods, monsters and legendary events. The very notion of historical fidelity is therefore particularly difficult to establish.

This announcement also comes in a context of repeated nauseating criticism from the billionaire towards Christopher Nolan’s film. In recent months, Elon Musk has notably attacked certain casting choices, criticizing in particular the presence of Lupita Nyong’o in the role of Helen of Troy. He had also supported publications targeting Elliot Page, once announced in the role of Achilles before finally being associated with the character of Sinon.
