Sixteen years after The Social Network, Aaron Sorkin reopens the Facebook file in a journalistic investigation film with an unfortunately very outdated style.

The superstar screenwriter Aaron Sorkin looks again at the case Mark Zuckerbergsixteen years after The Social Network and stuck to directing himself. But Zuckerberg is in reality only a secondary character here, most of the plot of The Social Reckoning winding around the writing of the series of articles The Facebook Files by Wall Street Journal journalist Jeff Horowitz aided in his quest by whistleblower Frances Haugen. The Social Reckoning is, therefore, a journalistic thriller, in the tradition of The President’s Men and the thousands of imitations of Pakula’s masterpiece that have proliferated for half a century.
