In We Bury The Dead, the English actress Daisey Ridley will face a bloody epidemic.

While waiting to find the English actress in Episode X of Star Wars, she will be playing with a small horrific indie production, called We Bury the Dead. This post-apocalyptic thriller was presented in a global preview at the SXSW Film & TV Festival 2025 and caused a sensation. A mix between horror and zombies which is revealed in this trailer (below).

The pitch? “”After an American military experience which turns to disaster and decimates Tasmania, Ava (Ridley) joins a unit responsible for recovering the bodies and identifying the victims. But her mission has a more intimate goal: to find her husband. Throughout her journey in ravaged landscapes, she discovers that some of the dead do not stay it long … “

Directed and written by Australian Zak Hilditch, the film also brings together Brenton Thwaites (Titans), Mark Coles Smith (Mystery Road: Origin), Matt Whelan (Narcos), Chloe Hurst (Andi Mack) and Kym Jackson (Eat Brains Love).

We Bury the Dead is expected in theaters on January 2, 2026 in the United States. No date in France yet.
