Demi Moore, Chloé Zhao, Stellan Skarsgård… Park Chan-wook’s Cannes jury
The eight members of the jury who will surround the South Korean filmmaker during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival have just been revealed.
The jury for the 2026 Cannes Film Festival is taking shape, and it will look great.
Around President Park Chan-wook, we will notably find Hollywood star Demi Moore, Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao and Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård.
The rest of the jury will be made up of Irish-Ethiopian actress and producer Ruth Negga, Belgian director Laura Wandel, Chilean filmmaker Diego Céspedes, Ivorian-American actor Isaach De Bankolé and Scottish screenwriter Paul Laverty.
On the other hand, no Jacob Elordi on the Croisette this year. Initially expected to join the jury, the popular Australian actor ultimately had to give up after breaking his foot. An injury incompatible with the Cannes marathon: between screenings, stair climbs, press conferences and evenings, the jurors must make a series of trips to the Croisette.
This jury will have the difficult task of awarding the Palme d’Or to one of the 22 films in competition, to succeed A Simple Accident by Jafar Panahi.
Demi Moore knows Cannes well: she made a notable return there in 2024 with The Substance by Coralie Fargeat, Screenplay Prize on the Croisette and a performance which earned her a shower of awards (Golden Globes, SAG, Critics Choice).
For her part, Chloé Zhao recently signed Hamnetwhich won Jessie Buckley an Oscar, after exploding in 2021 with Nomadlanddouble Oscar winner (film and direction).
Stellan Skarsgård was present at Cannes last year with Sentimental Value by Joachim Trier, a role which earned him a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination for best supporting role.
A historic figure in British social cinema, Paul Laverty has worked for 30 years with Ken Loach and producer Rebecca O’Brien. He is notably the screenwriter of two Palmes d’Or: The wind rises (2006) and I, Daniel Blake (2016).
As for the other jurors, Ruth Negga won with Loving by Jeff Nichols (Oscar nomination) and in the series Preacher while Laura Wandel recently presented Adam’s Sake at Critics’ Week. Isaach De Bankolé will soon be appearing in Dune 3 by Denis Villeneuve, and Diego Céspedes won the Un Certain Regard prize last year with his first feature film The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo.
This 79th edition promises to be particularly dense, including new films by James Gray, Asghar Farhadi, Pedro Almodóvar, Hirokazu Kore-eda, László Nemes and Ryusuke Hamaguchi.
The 2026 Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 12 to 23.
