Pixar unveils the return of Dory and Nemo to the cinema

A short film called Loving Dory which will tell a funny love story…

Ten years after having had the right to his own film with Finding Dorythe formidable blue surgeonfish of the Pacific Ocean will embark on a new underwater adventure.

Pixar presented at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival Loving Dorya new short film derived from the universe of Finding Nemo.

Directed by Lou Hamou-Hadj, who recently directed Win or Losethe studio’s first original series released in 2024, and produced by Mary Alice Drumm (Arlo’s Journey), the film will also see the return of the characters of Nemo, his dad Marin and the teacher Mr. Raie.

The story promises to be as tender as it is crazy: Dory will fall in love with a strange creature who will have a hard time returning her feelings… and for good reason, the blue fish will fall for a simple plastic bag!

In the original version, Ellen DeGeneres will once again lend her voice to Dory (dubbed in France by Céline Monsarrat, the voice of Julia Roberts), while the music is composed by Nami Melumad (Dreams Productions). Jazz singer Catherine Russell will perform two original songs.

No release date has yet been announced.

We simply know that Loving Dory will be revealed in cinemas, possibly as a preview of Pixar’s next original feature film, Nero, Black Catexpected in French cinemas in March 2027.
