Over the years: what we already know about season 2

It is Charlie Florek, Sam’s brother, who will be at the center of the plot.

Barely a month after its launch on Prime Video, Every Year After has already obtained a season 2. An express renewal which confirms the great success of this romance adapted from the best-seller by Carley Fortune.

The first season told the story of Percy Fraser (Sadie Soverall) and Sam Florek (Matt Cornett), childhood friends turned lovers before a mysterious event causes their separation. Ten years later, Percy returned to the small town of Barry’s Bay following the death of Sam and Charlie’s mother, bringing back memories and feelings from the past.

But the sequel will take an unexpected turn.

Amazon has confirmed that season 2 will adapt One Golden Summer, the follow-up novel by Carley Fortune, and shift its plot to Charlie Florek, Sam’s brother, played by Michael Bradway. The character, already very popular with readers and spectators, will therefore become the new center of the story.

However, the series will not completely turn the page on Percy and Sam.

Prime Video promises to continue exploring “fan-favorite stories and characters from the first season.” Sadie Soverall and Matt Cornett will also return to the cast alongside Abigail Cowen, Aurora Perrineau and Joseph Chiu.

“The response to Through the Years has been truly extraordinary and demonstrates audiences’ deep attachment to the world of Barry’s Bay,” said Peter Friedlander, Head of Series at Amazon MGM Studios. “We can’t wait to return and offer viewers a new, emotional chapter.”

Showrunner Amy B. Harris will also return for this second season, still supported by novelist Carley Fortune and the creative team from the first year.

No filming or broadcast date has yet been announced.
