Tom Holland is already preparing his next film after The Odyssey and Spider-Man
The British actor will continue with a new challenge: playing the legend Fred Astaire. A role which already requires him to resume intensive training.
While Tom Holland is in full promotion of The Odyssey by Christopher Nolan then by Spider-Man: Brand New Daythe actor is already thinking about what comes next. His next film will be the highly anticipated Fred Astaire biopic, for which he has already started rehearsals.
Guest of Good Morning AmericaHolland explains that he will immediately return to the studio once his promotional tour is over:
“As soon as I finish this promo, I will return to the dance studio. I had my first rehearsals recently and I’m both extremely excited…and completely terrified. I have a lot of work to do to live up to Fred.“
The 30-year-old actor specifies that he intends to take on the challenge without any understudy:
“I want to do all the choreography myself, without a stunt double, and shoot it in one shot, like Fred Astaire did.”
On the set of Live With Kelly and MarkHolland also confided that the back-to-back release of The Odyssey and of Spider-Man: Brand New Day marked the end of the first chapter of his career for him.
“I feel like I’m closing the first chapter of my career. Now I’m looking for more adult roles, challenges that really scare me.“
The actor, however, is not completely new to wearing tap shoes. Before Hollywood, Tom Holland made his name on the London stage by playing Billy Elliot in the musical Billy Elliotwhere he danced daily. He also admits that one of his biggest regrets is having stopped dancing after this experience.
“I started rehearsals again the other day. I was very happy when I left… but also terrified of all the work that awaits me.“
The biopic dedicated to Fred Astaire does not yet have a release date.
