Adam Driver as Mister Sinister: Marvel finally reveals its new X-Men
From Sadie Sink to Adam Driver, the cast of the X-Men reboot was revealed at D23. With some (sacred) surprises. And a release date set for May 2028.
The mutants are coming back!
We’ve known that for a few months… But we now know what they look like. Marvel took advantage of D23 to reveal a good part of the casting of its new X-Men, and Kevin Feige did not choose unknowns to make us forget Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman and the whole gang.
The big surprise is Adam Driver. After spending three Star Wars films as Kylo Ren, the actor joined the other Disney team to play Mister Sinister, one of the historical villains of the X-Men. In X-Men mythology, Sinister is a flamboyant Mengele, a geneticist who considers mutants his toys or his laboratory. His obsession remains Cyclops and Jean Gray – with whose DNA he plays to his heart’s content…. Via video, Driver returned to this new role that awaits him:
“ Kevin and I have been talking for years about the possibility of me joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And I think we finally found the perfect film, at the perfect time. So I’m very happy to play Mag… No. Even better: Nathaniel Milbury. »
“There was also someone else wanted to be here…”

In front of him, we know the new owner of Xavier’s chair (and baldness). It is Christopher Abbott who will play Professor X. A rather unexpected and rather exciting choice: the actor of Poor creatures is a fabulous actor and the antagonistic duo Driver / Abbott could work wonders.
Marvel has also confirmed Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, while Sadie Sink will be Jean Grey, Kit Connor will play Cyclops and Samara Weaving will become Emma Frost.
This entire new generation will be led by Jake Schreier, who remains at Marvel after Thunderbolts*.
We will now have to be patient before seeing all these little people put on the yellow and blue jumpsuits: X-Men will be released on May 5, 2028 in the United States (and probably on Wednesday May 3, 2028 in France, date to be confirmed).
By then, Marvel will still have found a fairly practical way to organize the transfer of power. The former Fox mutants – Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden and Rebecca Romijn – will be present in Avengers: Doomsday. One last meeting of the elders before handing over the keys to the school to the new kids. Or, knowing the properties of the Marvel multiverse, to continue squatting for another fifteen years who knows.
