New The Social Reckoning trailer targets Facebook

Aaron Sorkin himself is directing this sequel which will clearly point out the excesses of the social network.

Awareness is growing.

Sony Pictures has just revealed a brand new trailer for The Social Reckoningthe continuation of The Social Networkwhich tells the story of the excesses of Mark Zuckerberg’s social network and its influence on current society, years after its creation on the Harvard campus.

The video focuses on the investigation carried out by a journalist from the Wall Street Journal and an engineer who will sound the alarm on Facebook’s methods.

The new synopsis details: “Inspired by real events and the story of the whistleblower who raised awareness about the abuses of social networks, this original screenplay by Aaron Sorkin is a direct extension of the hit film Social Network, through a true story of David against Goliath. Frances Haugen, a young engineer at Facebook, joins forces with Jeff Horwitz, journalist at the Wall Street Journal. Together, they embark on a high-risk investigation that will reveal the best-kept secrets of the powerful social network..”

Aaron Sorkin signs both the screenplay and the direction of the feature film, extending his work on the universe after winning the Oscar for best adapted screenplay for The Social Network.

In the casting of The Social Reckoningit’s now Jeremy Strong (from Succession) who takes over the role of Mark Zuckerberg, taking over from Jesse Eisenberg, opposite Mikey Madison and Jeremy Allen White.

The Social Reckoning will be released in cinemas on October 7 in France.
