Gremlins 3 confirmed but pushed back to 2028

Warner Bros. validates the return of the horrific little creatures but for fall 2028.

We will ultimately have to wait a little longer before finding the Gremlins.

Originally announced for November 19, 2027, Gremlins 3 will finally be released on October 6, 2028 in American theaters (certainly on Wednesday October 4, 2028 in France).

The project was made official in 2025 by David Zaslav, the boss of Warner Bros. Discovery. The studio still confirms the sequel and even reveals a very first visual with an adorable Mogwai (Gizmo?) back in a backpack:

Chris Columbus, screenwriter of Gremlinsdirected at the time by Joe Dante, will be behind the camera, with Steven Spielberg executive producing.

Hannah Marks writes the screenplay from a first version written by Columbus, Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein.

For now, Warner Bros. still keeps the mystery around the plot and the casting. We simply know that this third part will mark the return of Gizmo and his little comrades, more than thirty years later Gremlins 2: The Next Generation.

Released in 1984, the first Gremlins had been a huge success at the box office, with 212 million dollars in worldwide revenue for a budget of around 11 million. The sequel, released in 1990, only grossed $41 million, but has since established itself as a true cult film.
