Hugh Laurie returns in a new series

The former Dr. House returns to the small screen with The Wanted Man, a new eight-episode prison thriller for Apple TV, expected in early 2027.

After starring in season 3 of Tehran Hugh Laurie remains on the Apple platform.

The unforgettable interpreter of Dr House will play Felix Carmichael, a powerful organized crime boss betrayed by one of his own and sent to Staplehurst prison.

“When organized crime boss Felix Carmichael (Hugh Laurie) is betrayed by one of his own and sent to Staplehurst Prison, he must immerse himself in the memory of his own brutality, to fight for his survival. With his family, his business and his fortune at stake, Felix resolves to do the unthinkable: escape” details the synopsis.

Created and written by George Kay, already at the helm of Hijack and Lupine, the series will be produced by New Pictures and Observatory Pictures, Kay’s production company. Jakob Verbruggen (The Fall, London Spy, Dark Matter) will direct the episodes.

In the cast, Hugh Laurie will notably star Thandiwe Newton (Westworld), Fionn Whitehead (Dunkirk), Gina McKee (My Policeman), Hazel Doupe (Say Nothing), Elliott Heffernan (Blitz) and Stephen Dillane (Game of Thrones).

The first two episodes of The Wanted Man will be available on January 6, 2027 on Apple TV, before a new episode every Wednesday until February 17.
