Neither seen nor known: funny, cruel and melancholy (review)

Once upon a time, there was a world where Isabelle Huppert was not Huppert but an ambitious extra. This comedy plays the double “I” card to the fullest and paints a sharp portrait of the small world of cinema.

Marc Fitoussi had co-written and signed several episodes of seasons 3 and 4 of Ten percent. We will therefore not accuse him of being opportunistic by playing the “film about the profession” card here. The filmmaker is in reality continuing his exploration of heroines – fighters battling with their own image (Copacabana, Pauline Detective, etc.) Here Sandrine Kiberlain, Anne Marivin, Ana Girardot or even Emmanuelle Bercot act as doubles of themselves with this “cow” supplement specific to this exercise in self-criticism. They are all excellent there.
