Jeremy Strong’s improbable text message to Jessica Chastain after the flop of The Social Reckoning

Beaten at the US box office by Malfaisante, the sequel to The Social Network inspired a hilarious exchange between longtime friends Jeremy Strong and Jessica Chastain.

After Diggerit’s the turn of The Social Reckoning to have a disappointing start at the American box office.

Aaron Sorkin’s film only debuted in fourth place this weekend, well behind surprise number one, Evilworn by Jessica Chastain. A defeat that Jeremy Strong, the interpreter of Mark Zuckerberg, obviously decided to take philosophically.

A handsome loser, the actor sent a text message to his Hollywood comrade, with whom he has a long-standing friendship. The two actors have already shared the stage several times, recently in Armageddon Timeand even found themselves together on the stages of Broadway.

Their exchange, posted by the actress on Instagram, is as brief as it is amusing. Strong sent Chastain a screenshot of an article from Vulture which emphasized that the evil mother of Evil came from “ spank ” has The Social Reckoning at the box office…

“Oh my God“, the actress replied. Strong then gave her the “middle finger”, followed by a kiss emoji.

“These photos are hilarious”commented Chastain, in reference to the editing of Vultureshowing the two actors side by side in their respective roles. “It’s crazy! You look SO SAD!” A little rooming session between friends which almost makes you forget the rout of The Social Reckoning at the box office.
