Disney Plus announces the date of The Testaments, the sequel to The Handmaid's Tale

All the official selection of Séries Mania 2026

The Testaments, the series derived from The Hanmdaid’s Tale, will open this 9th edition where we will also see Lucky Luke, Privilèges, Paolo, Eldorado and many other events.

375 series received. And 51 gems from 16 countries were selected by the Séries Mania Festival team, for this 8th season which will be held from March 20 to 27, 2026 in Hauts-de-France.

And headliner, the Lille event, the biggest series festival in Europe – which welcomed more than 100,000 visitors last year – will be entitled to the world premiere of The Testaments, the sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale which will be seen in France on Disney+ at the beginning of April. For the occasion, the creator of the adaptation, Bruce Miller, will be present with his actresses and in particular Ann Dowd (the famous Aunt Lydia) and especially Chase Infiniti, young star of One Battle After Another alongside Leonardo DiCpario.

The Testaments, a committed dystopian series denouncing the excesses of current America, will be one of the symbols of the 2026 trends in this selection of Series Mania stated as follows by the general director Laurence Herszberg and the artistic director, Frédéric Lavigne: “Faced with contemporary political, social and ideological upheavals, the series continue to play their role as sensitive seismographs, between alert, resistance and possible escapes”.
