BUGONIA, the shrinking man, the foreigner … The program of the La Roche-sur-Yon International Festival

Luxury programming for the Vendée festival, which will take place from October 13 to 19.

The La Roche-sur-Yon International Film Festival returns from October 13 to 19, 2025 for a 16th edition rich in discoveries and meetings. True to its editorial line turned towards contemporary cinema and the exploration of new forms, the event will offer this year nearly 80 unpublished films, in previews or in the French first, divided into competitions and thematic sections. More than 100 guests, filmmakers, comedians and professionals in the sector will come to meet the public.

Among the expected personalities, actress Camille Cottin, who will be in the spotlight with a retrospective of six films in her career and a meeting with the spectators on Saturday October 18. Quebec director Chloé Robichaud will also benefit from a focus around her work and preview her new comedy Two golden women. The public will also be able to interact with filmmakers like Ildikó Enyedi (Silent Friend), Pietro Marcello (Eleonora Duse) or Pierre Mazingarbe who will open the festival with The worst mother in the worldalongside Muriel Robin.

The festival promises to be eclectic with projections of long -awaited films like Bugonia de Yórgos lánthimos, Hamnet from Chloé Zhao, Blue Moon by Richard Linklater or Foreigner by François Ozon. Genre cinema lovers will find the variety section, in particular with Good boy from Ben Leonberg or Rabbit Trap de Bryn Chainey, while heritage enthusiasts will rediscover classics on the big screen like Back to the future by Robert Zemeckis or The teeth of the sea by Steven Spielberg. The festival will also offer a tribute to great cinema figures, from Claudia Cardinale to Robert Redford, via Émilie Dequenne, Souleymane Cissé and Terence Stamp.

Music will also be present with an Etienne de Crécy concert on Saturday October 18 at the Quai M. The youngest spectators will benefit from a large young audience, with short films and film-contained programs.
