Charlotte Gainsbourg and Yvan Attal will shoot a new film together
The French couple is back in a thriller by Olivier Ducray.
Charlotte Gainsbourg and Yvan Attal, couple in life as on screen, are back with The man who flew awayreports The French Film.
Adapted from the eponymous novel by Antoine Bello, published in 2017 by Gallimard, the film follows the story of Sarah, mother of three children, who finds herself at the head of the family empire after the brutal death of her wealthy husband, Paul Chardonnet, victim of a plane accident. The situation worsens when a detective comes to investigate the disappearance of her husband: if his death did not prove to be accidental, his company would be refused the colossal insurance premium promised. As the investigation progresses, the widow discovers the hidden sides of her husband…
This is Olivier Ducray’s third feature-length fiction film, co-written with Wilfried Méance, after Twins not too much And And more if affinities. After these two comedies, the director duo completely changes register and returns with a thriller against a backdrop of family tears.
In the casting we will find Charlotte Gainsbourg in the role of Sarah, Yvan Attal in that of the detective and Elisa Erka who will play his assistant.
This is the fifth time that the couple has shared the stage after My wife is an actress, My Stupid Dog, They married and had many children And Human Things. The first three are directed by Attal while the last, adapted from the eponymous novel by Karine Tuil, is by Matthieu Lamboley.
We will soon find Charlotte Gainsbourg on the poster of Gisèle – In the name of allthe biopic about the lawyer and feminist activist Gisèle Halimi, directed by Lauriane Escaffre, which will be released in theaters on November 4.
The filming of The man who flew away began on March 9.
