Creation of the Gods: the greatest Chinese legend has its trailer
Adaptation of an essential novel from the 16th century, this epic film will be released in France in an exceptional way to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Prince Yin Shou attempts to ascend the throne of the Shang kingdom with the help of his mistress Su Daji, herself under the influence of the Demon Fox. The Taoist sage Jiang Ziya, descended from the sacred Mount Kunlun, and Ji Fa, a young warrior raised by Yin Shou, join forces to fight the tyrant.
Creation of the Gods is the adaptation of one of the greatest Chinese legends. The trailer unveiled this week is for the first part of an eponymous trilogy adapted from the 16th century fantasy novel Investiture of the Gods, written by Ming Dynasty author Xu Zhonglin.
The cast of Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms was selected from more than 1400 people. In total, 15,000 global auditions were planned, supervised by the director Ran Jianan Wuershan, to finally select around twenty young actors. The latter then underwent training: six months of intensive training before being able to shoot the fight scenes for the film.
With $372 million already raised at the box office, Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms is already a success in its country of origin. He will be released in France exclusively February 10 and 11, 2024. Perfect for celebrating the Chinese New Year.
