George RR Martin has some things to say about House of the Dragon Season 2…
It’s clearly not just the fans who are having trouble digesting the end of this second season…
Completed a month ago, season 2 of House of the Dragon did not leave a pleasant memory with fans, and is instead associated with frustrations – particularly related to a story that felt rushed. While time has passed, and viewers have been able to move on, there is one who has woken up and who does not seem at all satisfied with the ending. George RR Martinthe author of Game of Thrones And Fire and Blood from which the prequel series is based, is ready to add fuel to the fire.
House of the Dragon: Review of a Season 2 that struggled to get going
While he could be writing the last volume of his literary saga, Winds of Winterwhich fans have been waiting for for quite a few years, the author recently contributed to his personal blog by adding a new note in which he does not mince his words:
“I can’t wait to write more articles about everything that’s wrong with House of the Dragon, but I have to do it, and I will.”
Less involved in this season, would George RR Martin share the feelings of the fans? In any case, this is not the first time that he points out the negative aspects of the series. Last July, he had pointed out the error on the emblem of the Targaryen in season 1. The three-headed dragon with two legs had three in the series. The author was offended by this, especially since this confusion had been found on the cover of his novels.
Far from always shouting, the writer nevertheless highlighted on several occasions the successes of the show, the production of episode 2, the spectacular battle of episode 4 – during which Rhaenys and her dragon Meleys lose their lives – and the acting – notably that of Tom Glynn-Carney who plays Aegon:
“He’s more than a villain here, he shows us the king’s rage, his pain, his fears, and his doubts. His humanity.”
What exactly are George RR Martin’s complaints? We’ll have to wait a little longer to find out, but it might just rekindle the fire among dissatisfied fans.
