Box office France: 8 million admissions for Spider-Man, soon 2 million for Fallen from the Sky

260,000 additional admissions in 765 cinemas in the sixth week allow Spider-Man: Brand New Day to reach the milestone of 8 million spectators in France. The weaver further strengthens its national record for a Marvel film, and remains number 1 in the French box office despite a return to school which causes its attendance to drop sharply: the film loses 56% of its audience in one week.

Le Tisseur also retains its first place in the French annual ranking, but The Odyssey remains within firing range.

After eight weeks in theaters, Christopher Nolan’s film still attracts more than 220,000 curious people and now has more than 7.6 million admissions.

The phenomenon of the moment, however, is elsewhere. Fallen from the sky continues its impressive run with nearly 233,000 new entries in 811 theaters.

Despite a drop in attendance, Mohamed Hamidi’s comedy, carried by Ilyes Djadel, is now approaching 2 million spectators. Without a doubt, one of the biggest surprise hits of the year.

As for bad surprises, The Dog Stars don’t straighten things out. Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic blockbuster attracts less than 100,000 additional spectators in its second week and has not yet reached 300,000 admissions. He should finish with a score comparable to The Last Duelreleased in 2021 in the midst of the Covid crisis (405,000 admissions at the end of their career). But it will not be the filmmaker’s biggest French flop: his romantic comedy A great yearreleased in 2006, had barely reached 160,000 tickets sold.

Finally, the diptych dedicated to Charles de Gaulle continues to hold up in theaters. The Battle of Gaulle: I write your name And The Battle of Gaulle: The Iron Age still sell around 80,000 places each and now have more than 5.5 million entries between them.
