Hope: excessive and jubilant (critic)
Ten years after The Strangers, Na Hong-jin returns with a wild alien invasion film. A visceral cinematic pleasure that mixes action, humor and terror.
Ten years we waited for news of Na Hong-jinwhich left us with the shock of The Strangersa nightmare from which we never quite recovered. We imagined a tortuous and poisonous return, but now it takes everyone by surprise with an alien invasion film built on speed and noise. Masterful opening hour with the floor on the ground, where the threat remains invisible for a long time, but followed closely by the corpses and exploded walls that it leaves behind. The pieces of bravery follow one another, enjoyable, and each action sequence seems to want to pulverize the previous one.
