Hawkeye, season 2 did not take place for a half -insulting salary story
Disney would have offered Jeremy Renner twice as much money to shoot the continuation of the Marvel series, in the wake of his serious snowcraining accident …
We thought that Jeremy Renner had hung up the arc to recover from his serious accident. But in reality, it was another pain that removed it from season 2 of Hawkeye : a salary proposal deemed insulting.
In a cash interview granted to the podcast High Performancethe actor reveals that Disney offered him half the first season for the first season. Result: no return for Clint Barton… and a good dose of bitterness:
“They asked me to do season 2, and they offered me half of the money”, explains the actor. “”I said to myself: ‘It will take twice as much job for half the thUnes, and eight months of my time … In short, I was asked to do this at half price! “
According to Renner, this drop in compensation was motivated by his terrible snowfall accident in early 2023, which had almost cost him his life.
“I said to them, ‘Sorry? Do you think I’m only half of Jeremy because I was crushed? That’s why you offer half of the cachet of season 1?'”
As a reminder, Renounce Was hospitalized in January 2023 after being overthrown by her own snoer-cat, an imposing lady, weighing more than 6 tonnes, undergoing serious torso and leg wounds.
The actor specifies that he does not hold Marvel directly responsible, but that in the end, he sent the studio to be seen:
“It’s not even Marvel, in fact. It’s just Disney. Finally, not even Disney. Just scrapes, accountants. I told them to go be seen, so their offer was insulting. We just failed to agree.”
Despite everything, Renner does not completely close the door to a return to the role of the superhero. If the salary follows:
“I still love this character, and I would still like to embody it. But I had to respect myself. I did not ask for one more penny, just the same salary as the first time. It is disappointing, yes, but I am at peace with that. My body, he probably thanks me for not having signed. We will see for the future.”
The first season of Hawkeyebroadcast at the end of 2021 on Disney+, also staged Hailee Steinfeld And Florence Pugh.
