Henry Cavill and Jake Gyllenhaal pair up for Guy Ritchie: trailer

Action film filmed almost three years ago, In the Gray finally has a release date.

While Prime Video has just launched the series Young Sherlockdirector and producer Guy Ritchie is already presenting a new project. The first trailer for its action thriller In the Gray has just been revealed, and it promises a concentration of shootouts, explosions and scathing replies in the purest tradition of the director of Snatch.

Distributed by Black Bear, the film will be released on May 15, 2026 in North America (no French date has yet been announced). The plot follows a secret team of elite agents tasked with neutralizing a ruthless despot and recovering a billion-dollar fortune he has appropriated for himself. The action is based in particular on two henchmen: Bronco, a bravado American played by Jake Gyllenhaal, and Sid, a much more methodical Briton played by Henry Cavill. Both are supervised by their coordinator, played by Eiza González. What begins as an impossible heist quickly turns into an open war involving strategy, deception and the fight for survival.

The cast is completed by Kristofer Hivju, Fisher Stevens and Rosamund Pike.

After working with Jake Gyllenhaal on The Covenant in 2023, Guy Ritchie then released The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare in 2024 with Henry Cavill, as well as Fountain of Youth last year. But these films met with fairly limited success, to the point that In the Grayfilmed in the fall of 2023, almost never saw the light of day.

On the other hand, the filmmaker is currently enjoying more success on television. Young Sherlock got off to a good start on Prime Video, while season 2 of The Gentlemen has already been filmed and is awaiting its release date on Netflix. A second season of MobLand is also in the works for Paramount+.
