Jason Statham to play Jason Statham for John Wick director
A meta action comedy in which the actor will play himself.
Jason Statham teams up with the director of John Wick for a new meta action comedy.
According to the American press, David Leitch will be at the helm of this project which is called Jason Statham Stole My Bike and will see the actor playing… himself, presented as “the role of a lifetime”. The film reportedly has a budget of around $80 million and is aiming for a PG-13 rating. No other casting has yet been announced.
After The Beekeeper, A Working Man and more recently ShelterJason Statham will continue his demolition business, but in a more comedic, less first-degree genre.
Leitch had already directed him in Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw. We also owe him Deadpool 2, Bullet Train or the very successful action film by Ryan Gosling, The Fall Guy.
The filming of Jason Statham Stole My Bike is due to start in May.
The screenplay is by Alison Flierl, but we don’t know what it will be about. Obviously a bike theft which should set things on fire…
The film currently has no release date.
