Lanterns: the trailer for the finale teases the Yellow Lanterns
The last episode will be available on HBO Max next Monday in France.

The first season of Lanterns is about to bow out, and the trailer for the finale sows some particularly intriguing clues.

While the mystery surrounding Hal Jordan’s death remains unsolved, Sinestro seems poised to bring a new threat into the equation: the Yellow Lanterns.
In the teaser for this episode 8, entitled “Dirt and Stars”, John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) finds himself facing Sinestro (Ulrich Thomsen) on an alien planet. And the former Green Lantern’s speech leaves little room for doubt: “The Lantern Corps thinks that fear makes you weak. They couldn’t be more wrong…” In the DC comics, Sinestro ends up using a yellow ring fueled by fear to become the leader of the Yellow Lantern Corps, a criminal organization in the DC Comics universe, enemy of the Green Lanterns.
But the real mystery remains that of Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler).
The series made his death in 2026 the starting point of its investigation, before gradually blurring the lines. Episode 7 notably revealed a history of depression in the Jordan family, pushing John to consider the possibility of suicide. But the trailer for the finale might just suggest that Hal’s story isn’t quite over…
Enough to open a door to a possible sequel? For the moment, HBO has not officially ordered a season 2. But the project is not ruled out: Chris Mundy and Christopher Cantwell are already working on the outlines of a potential second season. The writers’ room has started to think about what comes next, without any renewal having been made yet.
The finale of season 1 will be broadcast on October 5 on HBO Max in France.
