The Toronto Film Festival is adding new films to its selection, including Love of Your Life by Rachel Morrison, with Margaret Qualley.
Initially announced in 2020 (!), Alpha Gang finally sees the end of the tunnel. After years of postponements and casting changes, David and Nathan Zellner’s new film (Primitives) will be presented in September at the Toronto International Film Festival. It features a band of extra-terrestrials who come to invade Earth disguised as bikers. Their plan becomes complicated when they start to feel human emotions…
A first image from the film was released for the occasion, and it gives a glimpse of its impressive cast, with from left to right: Doona Bae, Lily-Rose Depp, Léa Seydoux, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Riley Keough and Dave Bautista. Cate Blanchett, Chris Pine and Adria Arjona will also star in this science fiction comedy which does not yet have a release date.
TIFF also added to its selection Love of Your Life by Rachel Morrison (pictured above), with Margaret Qualley, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Catherine Keener. The film follows the story of a nurse caught up in an immersive love affair that takes her life on a trajectory she could never have imagined.
In Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother (teaser below), Mahershala Ali will play Latif, a deeply religious hitman, embarked on a journey across Houston to protect his son after the death of his wife. Giancarlo Esposito, John Cho and Tramell Tillman will star in this film directed by Bassam Tariq, who was once hired to sign the reboot of Blade with this same Mahershala Ali.
