The actor of Supergrave And Scott Pilgrim could have appeared in the casting of the derived franchise Fantastic animals… But declined the opportunity, for fear of too invasive notoriety.

“I do not know if I can say that I was officially offered the role … But I think I just chose not to get involved in the process, because it probably involved a commitment on six years or something like that. And then I also made a conscious choice to limit my exhibition a little. I was just trying to keep control.”

The actor entrusts in the process to fear projects for the general public:

“I was very afraid of doing things that would make me too famous, especially children’s films.”

An atypical decision in an industry where major franchises are often synonymous with consecration.

But Michael Cerafaithful to his image as a discreet and unique actor, preferred to keep her distance from Hollywood’s successful machines.

Today on the bill of The Phoenician Schemehis first film with Wes Anderson, Cera admits having taken a step back on his fear of celebrity:

“I think I have been a little out of this feeling. But at the time, it was real. Today, if a frankness was presented and seemed interesting to me, I would not violently leave the room on the pretext that it is a franchise.”

From there to take a role in the MCU? Why not !

“I could play a superhero who is a big fan of dairy products, that’s in my strings.”
