New images from the Harry Potter series in a new HBO teaser

HBO continues to tease its new adaptation of JK Rowling’s universe.

The American network unveiled a new “Coming Soon” trailer showcasing several of its series coming in 2026. But it was especially the first additional images of Harry Potter that immediately caught the attention of fans.

This new teaser offers a glimpse of the adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone developed by showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director/producer Mark Mylod. In particular, we find the new performers of the main trio: Dominic McLaughlin in the role of Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.

And the video especially shows a glimpse of Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander, the famous wand maker from London. And in the wake of the wand that he will give to Harry. It’s difficult, when seeing these first images, not to immediately think of John Hurt, who already played Ollivander in the original films. The resemblance between the two actors is obvious, almost giving the impression of a visual handover between the two versions of the character.

And also: Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, Bel Powley Petunia Dursley, Paul Whitehouse Argus Filch, Johnny Flynn Lucius Malfoy, Bertie Carvel Cornelius Fudge, Luke Thallon Quirinus Quirrell, Katherine Parkinson Molly Weasley, Amos Kitson Dudley Dursley, Gracie Cochrane Ginny Weasley, Richard Durden Cuthbert Binns, Louise Brealey Renée Hooch, Bríd Brennan Pompom Pomfrey, Leigh Gill Griphook and therefore Anton Lesser Garrick Ollivander.

The Harry Potter series is expected around Christmas on HBO Max in France.
