Paddington 4 is confirmed, the creator of Veep is writing
Armando Iannucci is responsible for imagining the next part of the saga. In development at Studiocanal, this new episode could also mark the return of Dougal Wilson to directing.
The most British of little bears is going on an adventure again.
Two years after his trip to Peru, Paddington 4 is taking shape and is already surrounded by a duo of prestigious authors.
According to VarietyArmando Iannucci, creator of VeepHBO’s cult political satire, is responsible for writing the next part of the saga, alongside his historical collaborator Simon Blackwell.
The project, still in development at Studiocanal, could also see Dougal Wilson return to directing, he who had taken over the franchise from Paul King, to Paddington in Peru released in 2024. King, too busy with Wonka at the time, should therefore not take over the controls.
Still in early pre-production phase, Paddington 4 does not have an official release date, but confirms Studiocanal’s ambition to sustainably extend one of its most popular franchises: more than $800 million in cumulative revenue with the three films.
