Philippe Lacheau’s Marsupilami doubles that of Alain Chabat at the French box office
Even if Jumpers takes first place in the ranking, after having achieved a very good start for a Pixar original.
The school holidays are coming to an end, and attendance at theaters is generally declining this week. Marsupilami lost 54% of its attendance for its 5th week, with 345,000 new admissions in a huge number of 1,004 cinemas. The fall is harsh, but Philippe Lacheau’s comedy still arrives at around 5.3 million admissions, the director’s best performance, ahead of Alibi.com 2 (4.2 million in 2022). Better yet, this Marsupilami of the Fifi gang now does better than that of Alain Chabat: On the Marsupilami Trail had ended his career with 5.2 million spectators in 2012.
Further proof of the immense success of this sequel which brings Jamel Debbouze back, even if he slips to second place in the French box office, beaten by Jumpers.
With 410,000 spectators for its first week, the film directed by Daniel Chong took first place and a start almost three times higher than that ofElio in France last summer (160,000 admissions for its first week), and in the same waters as Elementary in June 2023. The latter then ended up with more than 3 million entries thanks to the summer holidays.
Behind, on the podium, we find Scream 7 with over 230,000 new entries at the end of its second weekend. A good score for this slasher prohibited for children under 12, distributed in around 400 theaters, which has nearly 700,000 fans at the moment in France, a bit less than Scream VI at the same stage in 2023 (820,000).

The Women’s Housewith Karin Viard, attracted 150,000 spectators after its first week in 377 theaters.
Finally, The American dream signed Anthony Marciano falls to ninth place in the ranking for its third week, totaling only 100,000 new entries and slowly approaching 500,000 spectators.
