The new Jack Ryan film unveils its trailer: John Krasinski is back in action
A sequel to the Prime Video series. Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly will also return to the cast.
Two years after the end of the series Jack Ryan in 2023, John Krasinski once again puts on the costume of the CIA analyst turned deputy director.
The character will make his comeback in a film titled Jack Ryan: Ghost War. A film which should not be shown in theaters but which will be released directly in streaming. Jack Ryan: Ghost War will be available on Prime Video from May 20 in the United States (French date to be confirmed).
The feature film will bring together several well-known faces from the series: Wendell Pierce (James Greer), Michael Kelly (Mike November) and Betty Gabriel (Elizabeth Wright) will return. Alongside them, new names join the adventure, including Sienna Miller, Mckenna Bridger, Max Beesley, Douglas Hodge and JJ Feild.
Of course, we will be able to see the film without having seen the series, even if it will contain quite a few references to past seasons.
Ghost War will be the sixth film in the franchise Jack Ryanadapted from the famous character created by Tom Clancy. In the cinema, the role was played successively by Alec Baldwin (Chasing Red October1990), Harrison Ford (War games1992; Immediate danger1994), Ben Affleck (The Sum of all fears2002) and Chris Pine (The Ryan Initiative2014). John Krasinski then relaunched the franchise on the small screen in 2019 with the Prime Video series.
Directing will be Andrew Bernstein, known for his work on series like house, Mad Men, The Americans Or Ozark. The screenplay is by Aaron Rabin and John Krasinski himself.
