After the worldwide triumph of Godzilla Minus One, awarded the Oscar for best visual effects, Toho unveils the first images of its sequel, which will be released in the fall.

The king of the monsters is back.

Toho has just revealed the first trailer for Godzilla Minus Zerodirect sequel to Godzilla Minus Onea huge critical and commercial success released in 2023, which grossed $116 million worldwide.

The first images announce a confrontation on an unprecedented scale. As Godzilla continues his destruction, the authorities this time try to stop the creature… by dropping a nuclear bomb. A desperate gamble in the face of a monster more colossal and more threatening than ever.

The plot resumes in 1949, two years after the events of Godzilla Minus One. The Shikishima family must face a new catastrophe, while Godzilla now extends his threat to New York.

Takashi Yamazaki is back as director, screenwriter and visual effects supervisor, who gave the saga its first Oscar for best visual effects, a historic award for a Japanese production. He signed the very first Japanese production, and the first Godzilla film produced by Toho, to be shot for IMAX.

Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe reprise their roles as Kōichi Shikishima and Noriko, already at the heart of the previous opus.

Distributed in France by Anime Ltd. and Toho Global, Godzilla Minus Zero is expected in French theaters on November 4, 2026.
