The ring is the star of the new Lanterns trailer
A new video and new images from the DC series… and finally the release date!
“In broad daylight or in the dark of night, no evil escapes my gaze. Let those who bow down to evil, fear the light of the Green Lanterns!”
The DC hero with the lantern is back and after a tough first trailer, he reveals his powers!
Warner Bros. has just unveiled a new trailer for Lanterns, its new series produced by DC Studios, which replays the Green Lantern comics through the prism of HBO dramas. And if this new video highlights the tense face to face between Hal Jordan (played by Kyle Chandler) and his young recruit John Stewart (played by Aaron Pierre) destined to join the Green Lantern Corps, it mainly focuses on the power ring which allows anything and everything to materialize. The power of the artifact shines in this 90-second video that should reassure comic fans.
In the rest of the cast, Kelly Macdonald plays Kerry, the local sheriff; Nathan Fillion reprises his role as Guy Gardner (already seen in Superman), member of the Green Lantern Corps and the Justice Gang; Garret Dillahunt plays William Macon, modern cowboy; Poorna Jagannathan plays Zoe, a woman as calm as she is calculating; Ulrich Thomsen plays Sinestro, a former Corps member turned renegade; Nicole Ari Parker plays Bernadette Stewart, John’s mother; and Jason Ritter is Billy Macon, Kerry’s husband. Laura Linney and Paula Patton complete the cast in roles still kept secret.
Created by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and also Tom King, the Lanterns series will be launched on Monday August 17, 2026 on HBO Max in France.
