Tom Hardy officially back for season 3 of MobLand
After months of rumors and behind-the-scenes tensions, Paramount+ confirms that Tom Hardy will reprise his role as Harry Da Souza in the sequel.
The secret was less and less well kept, but it is now official: Tom Hardy will be back in MobLand. Paramount+ has just confirmed the order for a third season of the series, and with it the return of the actor in the shoes of Harry Da Souza, the formidable “fixer” in the service of the Irish crime family led by Conrad and Maeve Harrigan, played by Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren.
This confirmation above all puts an end to several months of uncertainty surrounding the future of Tom Hardy in the series. Earlier this year, behind-the-scenes tensions between the actor, screenwriter Jez Butterworth and producer David Glasser finally came to light. It was even reported that Hardy was fired from the show.
The tensions were very real, but the situation was visibly more complex. The three men reportedly sought to resolve their creative disagreements, while several accusations circulated regarding Hardy’s behavior on set, Butterworth’s availability and Glasser’s very direct manner of working with actors.
Guy Ritchie, director and producer of the series, as well as David Glasser, particularly wanted Tom Hardy to stay on board. Their support will have finally paid off: Harry Da Souza will return for a new season of MobLand.
Before that, fans will be able to discover season 2, the first episode of which will be available on September 18 on Paramount+, with a weekly broadcast.
The release date for season 3 has not yet been announced.
