Tulsa King returns for season 5 filmed in New York

Ten days before the launch of season 4, the series led by Sylvester Stallone has already been renewed for a fifth season. And Dwight Manfredi will leave Tulsa to return to his New York roots.

Hello Oklahoma!

Tulsa King is going home. Paramount+ has just renewed the series with Sylvester Stallone for a season 5, which this time will be filmed in New York (while production of the first four seasons took place in Georgia). A decision that fits directly with the story told in this new season.

Dwight “The General” Manfredi is indeed from New York. After being exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, by his mafia associates, he will return to his roots in this fifth season. The move of production to the Big Apple thus accompanies the new chapter in the character’s story.

But this change of scenery is also a question of big money. With recent improvements in its tax credits, New York State has become particularly attractive for film and television productions.

“We are thrilled to welcome the cast and crew of Tulsa King to New York State for its fifth season,” said Hope Knight, CEO and Commissioner of Empire State Development, the state’s economic development agency. “Under Governor Hochul’s leadership, New York has established an unrivaled environment for film and television – world-class talent, iconic locations and a film tax credit program that creates real jobs and investment for New Yorkers. Tulsa King is the latest in a growing list of productions proudly filmed in New York.”

On the creative team side, Terence Winter remains the main writer of the series.

The cast will also expand. Scarlet Rose Stallone, Sylvester’s daughter, who has played Spencer since the beginning of the series, is promoted to regular. Four new actors also join the main cast: Erik Palladino, seen in I Play Rocky, Glenn Fleshler (Billions), Anthony Skordi (The Last Frontier) and Nickola Shreli (Power Book IV: Force).

Before discovering this new New York life, Dwight Manfredi still has season 4 to go through. It will debut on Paramount+ on October 16.
