30 years later, Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino follow up on Romy and Michelle
A new film is officially in production and will bring together the two actresses. It will be for the Disney+ platform.

Thirty years later Romy and Michelle, 10 years latera sequel is officially in production. The project will be done with the two stars of the time, Mira Sorvino (Oscar winner for Cursed Aphrodite) and Lisa Kudrow (Emmy Award winner for Friends), back in the title roles..
Released in 1997, the original film told the story of two young women of 28, a little lost but inseparable, who invent completely fictitious careers to impress their former classmates during their high school reunion. The comedy was not really a big success at the time ($33 million in worldwide revenue) but has become cult over the years. And the feature film has continued to generate rumors of a sequel… until today.

This time, the project is well and truly launched. Officially.
The sequel will be directed and produced by Tim Federle, with a script by Robin Schiff, creator of the original characters. The film will be produced by 20th Century Studios and streamed on Hulu, with a planned release in France via Disney+. No launch date has yet been announced.
Several faces from the original film will return, including Janeane Garofalo, Alan Cumming, Camryn Manheim and Julia Campbell. Newcomers also join the adventure, including Keegan-Michael Key, Rob Huebel, Breckin Meyer, Patrick Warburton and Nathan Lee Graham, in roles still kept secret.
Thirty years later, Romy and Michele are preparing to prove that some friendships never really grow old.
