In 2018, Without a Sound met with immense success with the public with a story of family survival produced by John Krasinski in which his wife to the city Emily Blunt tried to survive despite the presence of dangerous extra-terrestrials with highly developed hearing. A few years later, he returned with an equally effective and terrifying sequel. But for Without a Sound: Day 1, it is towards the past that the lens of the camera Michael Sarnoski – director of Pig – turns.
At CinemaCon 2024, Lupita Nyong'o (The Walking Dead, Black Panther, Us) came to present this prequel to the post-apocalyptic horror franchise in which she plays the main role. She then declared: “The scale of this story is bigger and scarier than ever.”

Quietly – Day 1: Lupita Nyong'o at the origins of chaos (trailer)
“It’s the end of time… The end of humanity… The end of New York… The end of everything.” A few days ago, Paramount unveiled a new trailer in which we understand how Lupita Nyong'o (Sam) meets the star of Stranger Things and soon Gladiator 2 Joseph Quinn (Eric).
In New York, the young woman and her cat, Frodo, helplessly witness the arrival of aliens who are already setting the city ablaze. Nothing the first trailer hasn't already shown us. His only chance of survival lies in silence. With the help of Eric and other survivors, they hatch a plan to leave the city infested by aliens and bombarded by helicopters – probably from the army – in the hope of eradicating the enemy from elsewhere.
“If we stay here, we’re dead.” The unbearable anxiety comes from this escape which seems impossible in a ruined city where the slightest noise can prove fatal. “Escape from New York in silent mode. But the question we all ask ourselves is of course: will the cat survive?
