The Dull Maid The Mage of the Kremlin at the French box office
Meanwhile, Avatar 3 and Zootopia 2 passed the 8 million admissions milestone.
It’s still so clean!
The Housekeeper remains firmly at the top of the French box office. Paul Feig’s thriller still attracts more than 370,000 spectators (-31% attendance) in the fifth week, bringing its total to nearly 4 million admissions.
Behind, Avatar: Fire and Ash follows closely with 330,000 fans as well (-35%). The film crosses the milestone of 8 million admissions, just like Zootopia 2. These are the first feature films to reach this bar in a year, after Moana 2.
A novelty appears on the podium: Jude Law as Vladimir Putin attracts the crowds. The Mage of the Kremlin already totals around 300,000 tickets, supported by a large number of 615 rooms. This is, by far, the best start to Olivier Assayas’ career.
Among other new releases, the horror film Primate and classic drama Hamnet their launch was also successful, with 150,000 admissions each, despite a more modest distribution: around 200 theaters for Hamnet only, but the huge buzz ahead of the Oscars certainly benefits Chloe Zhao’s film.
For his part, The Bozharsky Affair (-26%) confirms its very good start and already has almost 650,000 spectators in two weeks.
On the other hand, the flop is confirmed for 28 years later: The Temple of the Dead : 50,000 entries (-48%) in the second week, for a total which barely exceeds 150,000 spectators. Last summer, 28 years later had ended its run at 500,000 entries.
