What the original trio thinks of the new Harry Potter series

“It’s surreal…” Daniel Radcliffe admits today.

As HBO prepares its TV rereading of Harry Potter, the historic faces of the saga must agree to be replaced.

Daniel Radcliffe candidly recounts having discussed it with his Hogwarts friends, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson…

Guest of People magazine, the 36-year-old English actor revealed that they had discussed this new adaptation together, which will transform each of JK Rowling’s seven novels into a season. Filming began in July with young Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton in their roles: Harry, Ron and Hermione. Radcliffe confides that they mainly shared their feelings about this succession:

“It’s surreal to see other kids starting this same journey so many years later.”

But Daniel Radcliffe tempers. This series doesn’t obsess them that much: “We haven’t communicated a lot specifically about the series either…”

The actor explains that everyone feels the same thing instinctively:

“We see the pictures of these kids and we just want to grab them and hug them.”

Seeing this new generation also made him realize how young they were during the first film:

“When you’re 11, you think you’re big enough to do anything. But now, when I meet 11-year-olds, I’m like, ‘Wow, that’s crazy.'”

Looking back, Radcliffe says he especially admires the way his parents supported him during this global whirlwind: “They took me through something crazy with a lot of humor. It was a huge responsibility.”

See you in 2027 on HBO Max to discover this new generation of wizards in the new Harry Potter series.
