Summer 36: the new historical event series from TF1 with Nolwenn Leroy is revealed
After Brocéliande, the former winner of Star Ac’ will meet Julie de Bona and Sofia Essaïdi on the Côte d’Azur, during the first paid leave.
After Les Combattantes, Le Bazar de la Charité and Montmartre, TF1 dives back into the history of France. This time, his ambitious new production will take us back to the time of the first paid holidays.
Nice, summer 1936, the Riveira Hotel, a murder and four women: a new polished fiction in the form of Cluedo, which will arrive just before the summer on TF1. The 6 episodes will be broadcast from May 18.
Summer 36 was directed by Fred Garson and written by screenwriters Marie Deshaires and Catherine Touzet (Surface, Cassandre, Prière d’investigation…).
Five years after A Perfect Mother, French director Fred Garson returns with another period drama series. In 1936, when France gained its first paid holidays, the upper middle class, accustomed to sharing the Côte d’Azur alone, saw other populations of vacationers arrive, like the workers. In the heat of summer, social circles merge and four women, Blanche, Eugénie, Giulia and Léonie, find themselves involved in a murder which takes place at the Riveira hotel…
On the casting side, to play these four women, we will find Nolwenn Leroy – who recently was a hit in the mini-series Brocéliande – in the role of the governess Giulia, Sofia Essaïdi in that of Eugénie the rich lover, Julie de Bona will play Blanche, the passionate and fierce middle-class woman and Constance Gay will be Léonie sera, the police assistant.
Miou-Miou, François-Xavier Demaison and Pascal Elbé complete the cast.
Synopsis: “Summer 1936, Nice. Frightened, the vacationing bourgeoisie, accustomed to the Côte d’Azur and its refined privileges, sees new vacationers arriving, taking advantage of the first paid holidays. In this excitement where two worlds rub shoulders without trying to understand each other, four women from different backgrounds will find themselves involved in a murder in the very chic Riviera hotel. A crime that will turn their lives upside down family, loving and professional…”
