Dave Bautista gained 10 pounds of muscle to play Kratos in the God of War series

The Guardians of the Galaxy actor now weighs 115 kilos on the scale. An intense physical transformation to play the hero of the famous video game franchise on Prime Video.

Dave Bautista is bulking up!

The actor is actively preparing to play Kratos in the television adaptation of God of War and has just revealed the extent of his physical transformation.

In an Instagram story, he shared a video accompanied by the words “20 lbs gained for GOW”, or almost 10 additional kilos, as well as a number: 250. Understand 250 pounds, or approximately 115 kilos on the scale for the former Drax from Guardians of the Galaxy.

A development which comes a few months after the first images of its preparation. In August, Dave Bautista had already explained that he had seriously resumed bodybuilding, while specifying that he still had a way to go to achieve the desired physique.

The actor was cast to reprise the role of Kratos following the departure of Ryan Hurst, who was initially announced in the role. The latter was injured during preparation for the series, tearing his bicep and having to undergo surgery. A situation which would have pushed back the production schedule until 2027. Prime Video therefore called on Bautista and will have to reshoot the scenes already shot with his predecessor.

The series will adapt the story of the last two God of War video games, which immerse Kratos in the world of Norse mythology. The Spartan warrior raises his ten-year-old son, Atreus (Callum Vinson), there while facing the gods of this pantheon.

Prime Video has already ordered two seasons of God of War, which will be filmed back to back.
